شرح الماضي الافتراضي في اللغة الإنجليزية The Unreal Past
أولاً: المقصود من الماضي الافتراضي:
في حالة التعبير عن مواقف غير حقيقية أو خيالية أو التعبير عن رغبة لا يمكن تحقيقها:
1- نستخدم الماضي البسيط لتمني أو افتراض في الحاضر مثل:
Unreal Past الماضي غير الحقيقي
تمنى أو ندم يُشير للحاضر أو المستقبل
Present or Future Reference:
Sometimes we use the Past Simple when referring to the present or future. This is called the Unreal Past.
أحيانا نستخدم الماضي البسيط عندما نُشير إلى الحاضر أو المستقبل. وهذا يُسمى الماضي غير الحقيقي.
• We use wish / if only + Past Simple
to make a wish about a present or future situation which we would like to be different.
لنتمنى أن تتغير حالة شيء في الحاضر أو المُستقبل.
I wish you didn’t have to go tomorrow. أتمنى لو لم تكن مضطرا للمجيء غدا.
(= But you have to). (لكن يجب عليك ذلك)
I wish I had a bigger house. أتمنى لو كان عندي بيت أكبر
(= But I don’t). (لكنك لا تملك)
• We use wish / if only + could + bare infinitive
to express regret about something we cannot do at present.
للتعبير عن الندم عن شيء لا يمكننا القيام به في الحاضر.
I wish I could speak Italian. أتمنى لو كنت أستطيع التحدث بالإيطالية.
I wish I could come with you on Friday. أتمنى لو كنت أستطيع المجيء معك يوم الجمعة.
• We use wish/ if only + would + bare infinitive
to express annoyance, irritation, dissatisfaction,
and to make a wish concerning a present situation that is unlikely to change.
(The subject of would must be different from that of wish).
نستخدم الصيغة السابقة للتعبير عن الإنزعاج, والغضب, وعدم الرضا
و لإبداء الرغبة فيما يتعلق بالحالة الراهنة التي من غير المرجح أن تتغير.
(الفاعل يجب أن يكون مختلفا عن ما تتمنى).
I wish / If only you would stop shouting! أتمنى لو أنك تتوقف عن الصراخ
I wish the days would go by more quickly! أتمنى أن تمر الأيام بسرعة
• We use would rather + Past Simple
to say that we would prefer somebody to do or not do something
(the subject of would rather must be different from the subject of the main verb).
لنقول بأننا نفضل أن يقوم أحدهم بشيء أولا يقوم به
( لدينا فاعليـن اثنين فالفاعل المستخدم مع would rather يختلف عن الفاعل المستخدم مع الفعل الرئيسي).
I’d rather you didn’t use my phone. أود لو لم تستخدم هاتفي
• We use it’s (high/ about) time + Past Simple
to express criticism or complain about something that should have already been done.
نستخدم الصيغة السابقة لـ ( الشكوى), (النقد) أو للتعبير عما نعتقد أنه من الواجب أنه قد تم وانتهى.
It’s time you went to bed. حان وقت ذهابك للنوم
• We use as if / as though + Past Simple
for untrue situations.
نستخدم الصيغة السابقة للحالات غير الحقيقية.
He speaks as if he were an expert. يتحدث كما لو كان خبيرا
(He is not.) هو ليس كذلك.
Note: ملاحظة
• In the Unreal Past we usually use were instead of was.
في الماضي غير الحقيقي نستخدم عادة were بدلا من was
تمني أو ندم يُشير للماضي
Past Reference:
• We use wish / if only + Past Perfect Simple
to express regret about something that happened or didn’t happen in the past.
نستخدم الصيغة السابقة لـ
للتعبير عن الندم عن شيء قد حدث أو لم يحدث في الماضي.
I wish I had taken a torch with me. I can’t see a thing.
• We use would rather / as if / as though + Past Perfect Simple
to refer to the past.
نستخدم الصيغة السابقة للإشارة للماضي.
I’d rather you had informed me earlier. وودت لو أنك أعلمتني باكرا.
He talked to us as if he had known us for years. تحدث معنا كما لو كان يعرفنا لسنوات
I wish I knew his phone No. to communicate with him. (but I do not know it)
I wish I realized earlier that he is a real man.
I wish he came now.
2- نستخدم الماضي التام لتمني أو افتراض في الماضي مثل:
They behave as if they had succeeded in all exams.
We wish that he had passed the interview to obtain the job.
I wish (wished) he had attended the party yesterday.
He talks about England as if he had been there himself.
I wish he had gone yesterday.
الكلمات المستخدمة مع الماضي الافتراضي هي:
Wish, if only, as if, as though, suppose, it is high time, it is about time….
ملحوظة:
إذا كان الفعل المستخدم في الجملة هو فعل الكينونة (to be) فمن الأفضل استخدام (were) مع كل الضمائر مثل:
I wish he were you.
We wish you were a good partner.
ملحوظة2:
كلمة wish و if only يمكن أن تشير إلى المستقبل لذلك نستخدم كلمة would بدلاً من will مثل:
I wish he would come next week.
If only she would meet us tomorrow.
ثانياً: تمارين على استخدام الماضي الافتراضي:
تمرين رقم 1:
ضع الفعل بين القوسين في الصيغة الصحيحة:
1- I wish you (tell) me earlier about his continuous lies.
2- It is high time he (sell) his crops.
3- I wish I (be) as clever as he is.
4- if only he (be) certain about her address.
5- He walks as if he (have) a wooden leg.
6- He treats us as though we (be) children.
7- Suppose that the teacher (catch) you smoking.
8- If only he (not eat) so much last night.
9- I wished he (tell us the truth)
10- If only he (return) tomorrow.
تمرين رقم 2:
اختر الإجابة الصحيحة وضعها في مكانها المناسب:
1- I wish I ……………. a doctor to treat her. (am, were, was)
2- If only she ………….. her question in a polite manner. (asks, asked, had asked)
3- She walks in a strange manner as if she …………….. a big prize. (win, won, had won)
ثالثاً: حلول التمارين:
حل تمرين رقم 1:
1- I wish you told me earlier about his continuous lies.
2- It is high time he sold his crops.
3- I wish I were as clever as he is.
4- If only he were certain about her address.
5- He walks as if he had a wooden leg.
6- He treats us as though we were children.
7- Suppose that the teacher caught you smoking.
8- If only he did not eat so much last night.
9- I wished he had told us the truth
10- If only he returned tomorrow.
حل تمرين رقم 2:
1- I wish I were a doctor to treat her.
2- If only she had asked her question in a polite manner.
3- She walks in a strange manner as if she won a big prize.
